Michalis lived most of his life in the big city of Athens, at some point he realized that there is nothing like being in touch with nature.
So he decided to move to the birthplace of his parents where he started to make his dream come true, to make a living by doing what he loves the most, climbing mountains, walking trails and sharing his knowledge and passion for Crete and its history and culture with other people.

Psilortis mountain

The PSILORITIS mountain range is listed as both a UNESCO GLOBAL and a UNESCO EUROPEAN GEOPARK because of its unique flora and geological features.

Arkadi-Ancient Eleftherna-Margarites

The starting point is the historical monastery of Arkadi, from here we walk over some plains and hills offering wide views and a glimpse of the sea. From there the trail takes us along various excavation sites that all belonged to the ancient city of Eleftherna. Many findings from here can be admired in the brandnew museum that is nearby. The final part of the route takes us into the village of Margarites where you can enjoy many pottery shops, a refreshment and explore small Venetian streets.

NIDA PLATEAU, on the trace of Zeus

The day beginns with a road trip towards highest village of Crete, Anogeia, to reach the NIDA PLATEAU at 1450 meters. This plateau is the birthplace of Zeus and the unique venue where the Goddess Demeter fell in love with the human Jason. Our walk starts at the Poros at the souhtern side. We will soon pass some springs and some typical stone-built shepherds' shelters, called Mitato. Upon moving further towards the south we can see the entire Messara plain and the coast near Matala.

Mount Gigilos

Mount Gigilos is situated on the western side of the famous Samaria Gorge and is dominating the landscape around the Omalos Plateau with its impressive summit of 2080 meters. The path that leads up starts just at the opposite of the entrance of the Samaria Gorge and takes us along rugged scenery and impressive rock formations. Once we reach the peak we will be rewarded with a breathtaking view over the entire Samaria Gorge, the Omalos Plateau and the range of the White Mountains.

Lefka Ori

The famous chain of the white Mountains,also called the Cretan high Dessert or Cretan Alps, proudly feature more than 50 peaks that are above 2000 meters. Cretan South Coast

This hike starts at 580 meters and leads over a rocky trail down towards the south coast,from Anopoli till Marmara beach. During this part you will enjoy some dramatic views on the Libyan Sea, Gavdos Island and over the village of Loutro. You will enter the Aradaina Gorge from the slope on the eastern side. After arriving at the riverbed we continue walking through this spectacular gorge until we reach Marmara beach where you are rewarded with a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters of the Libyan Sea.
