Kurelu is an interactive project, a creative “bet” that woven carpets can claim a place in the modern home and woven accessories to become again a part of our everyday life. The person behind kurelu is Angeliki Genitsaridou!She grew up literally amongst the looms of the women of her family and she cherished their rhythmic song. She studied decorative arts at the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, worked as a decorator for several years and then decided to return to her roots …! Her childhood experiences, her modern way of “ look and feel” and the colourfu cotton rags imported from abroad, are all woven in her looms.

Klados winery

The Klados Winery is a small family business, founded in 1997 and located in the direct neighborhood of Melidoni X Village. Klados Winery is a member of the association Wines of Crete, an association to promote Cretan wine around the world.

The first winery was set up in small rented premises, located on the outskirts of the city of Rethymno, with a production capacity of 20,000 Litres/year, that grew over time. The business was relocated in 2007, in a purpose-built family owned premises, with a capacity of 100.000 Litres/year, in the area of Panormo. The new winery was equipped with modern technology, in both winemaking and bottling, enabling the processing of greater volumes and higher standards of quality.

Paraschakis olive oil

Paraschakis olive oil factory is a Cretan family business, with a year-long tradition in the production of olive oil. Years of experience and thorough knowledge of olive products are the main characteristics.The Paraschakis olive factory lies around the corner of Melidoni X Village and was found in 1991. The olive factory is producing around 400 tones of olive oil and supporting the local farmers around the area.
The mill uses the centrifugal procession for the separation and the extraction of the olive oil. In addition, the kneading procedure is at temperatures lower than 27 degrees Celsius in order to ensure all the quality features and benefits of the product.The mill has been totally upgraded with new modern and latest technology machines, a fully automated line that can produce a better olive oil!
