During the summer of 2005 the first rough draft was drawn and as soon as the idea was visible on papers the journey began.
Upon the little hill just outside of Melidoni Village 20.000sqm land received a makeover in 2008.
Rocks were cracked, land was straightened and old trees were carefully saved and put in spotlight. By the summer of 2009 five independent Villas, 12.000sqm planted garden area and a main house with restaurant and reception facility were built.
The use of natural stone and descend colours for all paint works made the whole place blend into the environment.

Paint with Marian Pruijn

Marian began her training in 1986 at the Vrije Academie in Amsterdam, followed by further studies at the Artez Institute of Arts / Fine Art.
She first traveled to Crete in 1992, curious and in search of Minoan art.Her interest in the ancient Greece was aroused during her art education. At that time, she studied Magisterium in Nijmegen.Then she continued her free art studies at the College of Art in Arnhem. Marian is offering painting workshops in Crete since 2012.
Marian says that painting is an intrinsic motivation / the inner need to express herself and teaching art means to find and discover anyone 's individual creative talents.

Olive oil

I often imagine future events before they take place. In my imagination I picture the most happenings as either fun, romantic or adventurous. Harvesting olives is one of these events which has been previously decorated in my thoughts. An event I was very much looking forward to. I wanted to prove to everybody and myself that a foreign citizen can do it…easily.
Arriving at the olive field I had firstly been introduced to my companion, the stick. Further instruction like how and where shall I hit the tree followed. It took no longer than 10 minutes that life kissed me with reality and the romantic and adventurous thoughts turned into a memory for a lifetime, very pure less romantic. It is hard work and once you finish with one tree you should NEVER look around as you will be overwhelmed by the number of trees waiting for you.
